training-onlineTaking a 60 hour course for solar installation may seem like overkill if you are only planning on completing one DIY solar panel project. It might be a good investment if your project is extremely ambitious. Taking the $795 course that I found could conceivably prevent a $1,000 mistake.

A six-week, Internet-based, online course of instruction with text, CD-ROM reference materials and Internet resource links. The course is self-paced and there is no set time to be online. Individuals have six weeks to complete all course requirements and can work on the course material whenever they have time.

This particular course is filled for the next four sessions. There are still openings in September.

  • I took the entry level and advanced pv online classes at SEI. They were worth it, mostly because of all the study materials they give you. If you are trying to prep for the NABCEP, these classes alone are not enough though. With the resources you are given in these courses you have to do a lot of studying on your own. I plan on taking the test in Sept.

  • We’ve been on solar power here in CA for a year now and seen our energy bills cut in half. Just can’t beat it.
